A great Mum 50th

Mum 50

For those who know us it’s about this time
That our Dad gets up and performs a rhyme

But he’s a big softie the silly get
When he reads these rhymes he gets upset

So me and George will give it a try
We promise we’ll try not to cry

We are here today to celebrate
Our Mums 50th birthday we think she’s great

She doesn’t look 50 I’m sure you’ll agree
She looks much closer to 23

Like all kids we can be a pain
But Mum is there for us again and again

She washes our clothes and irons our shirts
She gets us up and off to work

Packed lunches are made with our favourite bites
She shops for all the things we like

I like pepperoni pizza as most people know
Mum supplies a constant flow

I am so fussy and hard to please
But something Mum always seem to achieve

I like anything all food is great
And Mum makes sure she fills my plate

For one and all it’s clear to see
When it comes to food Mum looks after me

We don’t always show it but we do appreciate
All the things you put on our plates

We may occasionally turn up our nose
But when you used to great service that’s how it goes

Mornings in our house are a happy place
Until George wakes with his miserable face

In the mornings George is not a good lad
He stomps around and drives Mum mad

Then later when it suddenly suits
It becomes happy George and oh so cute!!!

Now hang on Mike who are you to talk
When you stomp out with your angry walk

You can’t find your wallet you can’t find your pants
You have Mum in an angry dance

Have you seen my footy boots is the cry
Were did you leave them Mum replies

Have you even looked I think not far
You usually find them in the car

For all our problems you brought us up well
And lots of tales we can tell

Holidays we have had good fun
Drinking coke light in the Sun

Weekends in Formby were always great
And a fuss of us you’d always make

Trips to Southport the two pence slots
Fish and chips we got the lot

Holidays abroad mainly Spain
We finish one holiday then would book again

Our favourite times were of course
The trips to Mallorca Can Piacafort

Our apartment at Charley’s looked over the beach
By two way radio you we’d reach

Time for a breakfast now please Mum
And as instructed you would come

Set us up for the day acting the fool
Then to the bars for games of pool

Charley’s, Bus Stop and Birdies Bar
We’d do them all it wasn’t that far

Was this just to entertain us I don’t think
It was so Mum and Dad could have their drinks

Great memories and great days
Even better Mum and Dad paid

Mum you have strong opinions at times
And if we say you’re wrong it is a crime

In the house this can cause a fight
As you know you think you’re always right

But we know better your two lads
It not you who’s right it’s always Dad

People often ask about our names
George Michael what was Mums game

Were we named after the singer from Wham
The one who sang I’m your man?

So we decide to ask her one day
And this is what she had to say

You’ve got to have faith boys Mum Replied
Come with me lets go outside

I was in Club Tropicana listening to Whams latest hit
And like a young gun I went for it

Yes it’s true it can’t be denied
But still you are your Mothers pride

If you’re not a fan you may have thought above verses crap
But they included George’s songs and a bit of a Wham rap

One little bedroom secret we can share if we can
At night we can hear Dad singing I’m your man

Seriously Mum although we moan
Without you we’d be very alone

You brought us up all of these years
You’ve shared are joys and a few tears

A better Mum there could not be
At least according to Michael and me

So to just say thanks to you for always being about
We have good news were moving out!!!!!

We say this only in fun and jest
Who’d move out of our hotel, one of the best

I’m sorry It’s true all your worst fears
You’re stuck with us for a good few years

Mum we now bring this to an end
So can I ask family and friends

To raise a glass and make a toast
To our Mum who we love the most

Happy Birthday Mum!!!!!!

That’s the end of our speech so let’s hear you all cheer
Let get this place dancing and get on with the beer!!!
