ANNE 60TH

Our little Annie 60 Today
24th January 2015

It’s your special birthday 60 today
You really don’t look it I feel I must say

You never look 60 it must all be a lie
You look much closer to 75

I say that only in fun and jest
As our little Annie is one of the best

Now reading the next bit and I don’t know why
We may see a tear and hear you cry

You know what you’re like it’s not just hype
Our little Annie is the emotional type

1955 the year you were born
Between Manchester and Yorkshire you were torn

Born in St Marys Manchester and in Swinton you were raised
Back in Ellesmere Street in the good old days

But you are proud of your roots muck and brass
And have always insisted you’re a Yorkshire lass

Elsie and Gerald your Mum and Dad
Brought you up well you didn’t turn out bad

Six brothers and sisters a large family
Maria, Deborah, Dave, Gerald, Andrew and Ste

Now I hear you have a royal connection from back in the day
And in posh peoples gardens you used to play

Your Gran was a house keeper in a house so posh
You used to go round and play with the toffs

Lady Serena who was Princess Margaret’s bridesmaid
In her very large garden you used to play

Looked after by Cook and Chauffeur too
Bloody hell the state of you!!!!

Ever since back then it’s been your intention
To try to find your royal connection

But it turns out like us you are working class
Born in Manchester but a Yorkshire lass

But you know what John Lennon said and I do agree
A working class hero is something to be

You now live in Astley and what’s really quite neat
You live in yet another Ellesmere Street

Happy days at home with Tony who you think is great
Your partner in crime and a true soul mate

You make a great couple and it must be said
We were all made up when you finally got wed

Anne you are a lady who is full of fun
And to your two children you are a wonderful Mum

Zoe and Leon sister and bother
You will always be there for them as their mother

To all your Grandkids you’re a wonderful Nan
Lauren, Senna, Josh, Tailor and Ellis make up the clan

With you Nannie Annie they are on a winner
And they love to come round for Sunday dinner

Cooking you enjoy and you love to bake
Curry, a roast dinner or a Christmas cake

Painting is also a hobby and at this you’re not bad
But from what I hear you’re not as good as your Dad

You are into your music and could have gone far
With that wonderful voice and a strum on your guitar

You could have been famous some people say
But they didn’t have X factor back in the day

You have lots of other interests someone told me
Gardening, Sudoku and your family tree

You like looking at gravestones you know that you do
Trying to find a rich relative or two

But your favourite pastime is coming to work
And responsibilities you never shirk

Working in accounts can be a bit of a drama
But you do love your days with us all at Ritrama

Chasing bad debtors throughout the day
And it makes you so happy when a customer pays

Working at Ritrama makes you feel alive
And the best part for you now is the daily drive

So that’s you in brief a tale of your time
All put together for you in a rhyme

You are a lovely lady and best wishes we send
To Anne our colleague and special friend

60 today and still full of fun
Despite what I said earlier you look 21

So happy birthday to you we raise a glass and say cheers
I’ll now pass you some tissues to wipe away those tears!!!

I hope with this rhyme you are really impressed
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN TO ONE OF THE BEST!!!
