40 today Mandy Dodd
Born back in 1973
When flares were wide and love was free
30th March was the date
A beautiful baby who turned out great
Jimmy your Dad and Pat your Mum
A great childhood filled with fun
A brother and sister Jamie and Joanne
And Granddad Harry made up the clan
Brought up in West Derby and lived off Mab Lane
Shared a bedroom with Joanne which was sometimes a pain
I’m guessing but there must have been nights
When with brother and sister you had some small fights
But families get through this you know that they do
They’re here today to celebrate with you
Your teenage years you got involved with a man
He was a member of the Meighan clan
I don’t know if you liked him but it’s clear to me
You did fall in love with his family
They made you welcome as the Meighans do
To this day they can’t get rid of you
Round there for breakfast lunch and tea
Too much of Mandy they did see
But they liked you a lot a girl full of fun
And part of their family you have become
And so off to college to learn a trade
For nursery nursing you were made
You studied hard and tried to be good
But most of your time was spent in the pub
It was about this time you befriended Ronald
You became a burger flipper at McDonalds
At first it was the fries and burgers you craved
But then you met co worker Dave
On your first date you shared some fries in the back
It was then Dave surprised you with his giant Big Mac!!!
Not quite a whopper was this Big Mac thing
You can only get them at Burger King!!
This was a time when you partied at the 051
With Kerry Alison and Anne Marie you had great fun
Dave then moved to Uni in Manchester
So you moved some of the partying up there
You still partied in Liverpool and often came out
With the Royal Insurance crowd what a great shout
A great shout I say why would that be?
It obvious because it’s where you met me
Great memories back then I really must say
And our parties still going on today
Not as loud and peace we do seek
Are bones are older and starting to creak
But still have good time with a glass of champagne
And always look forward to when we do it again.
So time moved on it was time to start work
As responsibilities you could not shirk
Davenhill school needed a nursery nurse
They chose you they could have done worse!!
Over 20 years service you’ve been there a while
I believe they’ve announced you’ve just passed your trial
Your work with Sharon you think she’s great
Not just a colleague a really good mate
You show loyalty to this school you know that you do.
They got it right when they chose you
Dave also chose right when you got together
Something he wanted to last forever
He asked you would you share his life
And you happily agreed to be his wife
A hen night in Newcastle I think I was sick
On the way home South Shields we got out of there quick
A hen night in Formby a time that was quite good
At least until Tina went missing in the woods
I think Tina she got a little too pissed
Every man that went passed she could not resist
So to the wedding the party was neat
A night of celebration in the Huyton suite
You said you vows we all had a rave
At the end of the day you were married to Dave
On you honeymoon to Ireland off did you go.
Not on your own you had people in tow
You are supposed to go alone for a bit of passion and romance
But Dave I’m afraid had to keep on his pants
Tina and Dan Jeannie and Dave
Went along for the ride so no babies were made
Lots of holidays you’ve since been on
Mainly time spent in the sun
Mexico, Florida in the USA
You’ve swam with Dolphins along the way
You met us in Mallorca for some winter sun
Nine months later you had a son
One weekend I can clearly recall
Was when John was away golfing hitting balls
The gang came round to ours just to have a meal
And for the food you got the feel
It went on late way past two
And I couldn’t get bloody rid of you
Next day breakfast you were heard to say
We might as well stay another day
When John came home 2 days later you were still about
He had to eventually kick you all out
If he hadn’t come home I can safely say
I think you’d still be there today
In small spaces you love to climb
You try to do it all the time
Wardrobes cupboards or a suit case
You try to get in any space
You love a challenge and cannot sayno
In small space you must go
So to the Doddies of Crossvale Road
A happy family in this nice abode
Mandy and Dave the Mum and Dad
Ethan and Harry two good lads
Ethan the sensitive one with his cheeky grin
Harry the crazy one who won’t give in
Like all boys sometimes a little too loud
But of both your boys you must be proud
You get around and about days out so merry
And usually end up on the Mersey ferry
If not on the ferry you may be again
Travelling on a Mersey train
Whatever you do its clear to see
You’re a very happy family
Mandy you’re a great mum, daughter, sister and mate
A lovely person we all think you’re great
Recently we know you’ve not been too well
But you have a great attitude and say what the hell
You get on with treatment and so positive too
Family and friends are so proud of you
So keep your chin up as I know that you do
Over this challenge you will soon get through
Then back to the parties more weekends away
I really can’t wait I must say
Like the weekend in Belfast when we did our pub crawl
Well at least in one pub we went through two doors
We enjoyed our drinks on the plane and when coming into land
Both of us still had two drinks in our hand
I always seem to share a room with you
I thinks it’s because you snore like me too
So happy birthday to a dear friend
This greeting comes from family and friends
A greeting also comes from those up above
Your Mum and Granddad send all their love
So please raise a glass and make a toast
To Mandy Dodd who we love the most
A wonderful lady always full of fun
A pleasure to know and a wonderful Mum
